Texas Latest Political Absurdity By Lt. Dan

The following was sent to a Superintendent friend of mine in Southeast Texas (Northeast of Houston). My friend on his personal Facebook page, independent of his job has posted several times in support of Scott Milder, a Texas Republican running against Lt. Dan Patrick. Mr. Milder believes that Lt. Dan’s leadership, or lack of, is bad for this state.

This should be interesting how this plays out. I suggested to my friend that he should send a blank ream of paper to these people with a letter stating that they will find all the information that they requested and a bill for the postage.

I just received a public information request from someone representing Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick!!! This is to find out what we are doing to help Scott Milder retire him.

This is all that he asked for:

As a brief reminder, the Texas Attorney General and the Courts have ruled that communications sent to personal email addresses are still subject to FOIA requests if connected to the public servant’s official capacity. See the Texas Attorney General’s Public Information Handbook 2016 on page 16.

I again reiterate that I only want responsive records from July 1, 2017 – current.

Please deliver all responsive records electronically.

The 3 items I have requested may be delivered separately if that would be faster for the District.
